Description
Clara Schumann’s Three Romances, Op. 22 for Violin and Pianoforte were composed in 1853 and are dedicated to the violinist Joseph Joachim. The arrangement for viola and piano presented here by the husband-and-wife musical duo, Bella and Semjon Kalinowsky, has already been performed many times with success on the concert stage. The piano part has been left in its original form, with only the viola part being adapted to suit the instrument. This edition thus provides a welcome addition to the meagre repertoire for viola in the form of a lyrical and romantic work that is sure to win many friends.
