Description
The Camperdown Elm is the oldest tree in Prospect Park. It is characterized by twisting branches that grow parallel to the ground. The musical figures in this piece are inspired by the tree and by various birds and frogs common to New York State. Some of the animals found in the piece include the green frog, bullfrog, white- throated sparrow, and thrush.
